An impromptu dinner party

I woke up at 4am (event nerves) to find a message from our favourite private chef – Giuseppe Manzoli (he cooked us an amazing 10 course meal a couple of months ago for a review), he’d been let down with a last-minute cancellation and wanted to know if we’d like to gather 8-10 people together for dinner – of course we jumped at the opportunity and 9 of us ended up dining much better than we would have done otherwise.

Again, countless courses and all delicious! So kind of him to share his talents with us once more. We repaid him with guitar playing, eggs & jam, small return for an amazing dinner.

Hi Giuseppe!

I wanted to thank you again for your amazing dinner on Saturday. Organising a hen party can be busy and we were a bit overexcited during the evening, but you were so engaging, fun, and enthusiastic also! Despite our (very) small and ill-equipped kitchen, you cooked up a storm and served us the best dinner ever! Every plate and dish was a wonderful surprise, and every mouthful was delicious! My only regret is that we could not fit all the food in our stomachs but we enjoyed the leftovers the next day. Your food is beautifully presented, fresh, tasty, and true to your Italian roots. Every single person there (all fourteen) was so impressed by the quality, quantity, and variety, of the food, and let’s not forget the fresh homemade strawberry vodka cocktail during the canapes! I cannot recommend you highly enough, and I will certainly be in touch again for future events.

 We all enjoyed your delicious food. And I am very happy to recommend you to my friends for future occasions.
 Now – as you have learned, the greatest value we get from Toastmasters is the feedback which we receive from other members and from the role takers at meetings.
With that in mind and in the spirit of friendship, I would like to offer you some feedback from yesterday evening, which I hope you will find useful in developing and growing your business.
Firstly – your enthusiasm, generosity and interpersonal relationship with your clients is a very positive point.  All four of us agreed what a very charming and straightforward person you are, and this made a big positive impact from the start.
Secondly, you have a wide range of developed skills in your cooking, and your emphasis on the use of high quality, fresh ingredients  and handmade dishes (pasta, ice-cream, etc.) is a very positive point, I think especially for your target market.

Comment: I was 60 on Saturday 14th May and my wife Kate’s birthday was on the 16th so I was looking for a very special meal but we had hired a cottage in The Cheviot Hills miles from anywhere and we didn’t want to drive – the answer was to hire Giusseppe !! Never had a personal chef before but what an experience !!! Saying the food was amazing does not do it justice it was much better than that – the canopies, the lamb risotto, the butternut squash soup with butternut crisps and homemade croutons, the ricotto and spinach ravioli, the lamb balatine with baked beatrout, the halibut with herb crust, the lamb with apricot, date and fig sauce were all superb (with Giusseppe’s home made grissini / assorted breads) and his homemade icecream was the best we have ever tasted. We couldn’t manage the Creme Brule and Crepe suzette with orange sauce as we were fit to burst but they still tasted lovely the next day.
But more than that Giusseppe’s company and his infectious enthusiasm for cooking made the whole experience unforgettable. And the fact that he drove 140 miles round trip to do this for us – priceless. I would recommend Giuseppe to anyone who wants the most wonderful meal with the bonus of his company.

Giuseppe’s passion for his food shines brightly, he’s incredibly personable and on top of his wonderful food, he totally made the evening “oh no, I forgot the bombolini” will forever make me smile (he went above and beyond, our 4 course menu seemed to have become 10 courses on the night with all the extras he created).

To say we were spoilt rotten is an understatement – he went above and beyond – he even brought 4 different types of tea, in case anyone fancied that instead of coffee. People keep pushing me for favourites – it’s hard though, it was all to delightful and to an incredibly high standard – the sweet potato gnocchi & lamb dish was a total triumph, the goat’s cheese arancini, delicioso and the homemade pasta, divine!

Giuseppe did an amazing job transforming our kitchen into his! He went above and beyond the set menu with many more dishes to sample and to achieve that, for 7 people, all freshly prepared, was very, very impressive.
His enthusiasm for cooking was clear to see and we could not fail to warm to that and to his great character.

I really enjoyed the dinner with Giuseppe. He provided an unforgettable feast, and made every effort to ensure a special evening for 7 of us.

He brought out many more dishes for us to enjoy on top of the set menu, including many varieties of delicious homemade bread. Each course was very tasty.

A meal of his canapés, and starter of sweet potatoes and ballotine of lamb, alone would have been resplendent!

Giuseppe’s passion for cooking comes across strongly, and he is a great people person, keen to engage and talk about the food prepared.

Giuseppe was absolutely superb – enthusiastic, talented, energetic and he cooked us the meal of our lives! He put in so much passion to his work it was a real treat to experience it. I’d say the highlight was the lamb and sweet potato gnocchi but everything really was brilliant so hard to pick the best bit.

Despite the challenges of the logistics of getting the Equipment Food and staff to look after all my guest out there, the venue was amazing. Excellent Food, superb Ambient, excellent Service..
